How design saved a multi-story car park in Spain from being another concrete eyesore

Posted on by Hotfoot Design

Concrete is hard to love, as discussed in this brilliant episode of 99% Invisible. And of all the concrete structures you might find downtown, the one kind that most of us would agree fails more often than not on aesthetic grounds is the concrete multi-story car park.

So it’s interesting to see how rows of coloured metal slats have transformed the appearance of this multi-storey hospital car park in A Coruña, Spain, designed by Gustavo Díaz García and Lucas Díaz Sierra of Díaz & Díaz Arquitectos with architect Rafael Ángel Otero Mosquera.
