Hotfoot designs and builds a tasty new ecommerce website for Britain’s biggest family

Posted on by

This was a really tasty project – the design and development of the Radford’s Pie Company website by our team at Hotfoot Design.

The Radford family are well known thanks to a Channel 4 show about their status as Britain’s biggest family, with 18 children and counting. The launch of their own online pie shop follows many years of success running Faradays bakery in Heysham.

Charlie Haywood, Hotfoot Creative Director, said, “We were approached by Noel and the family to create an ecommerce site that would convey their commitment to good, wholesome food. As ordering a pie online is still quite novel, it was important that we designed a brilliant user experience that gave people the confidence their tasty pies would be delivered with extra care. After ordering one myself the other day, which arrived in a temperature controlled box, and which was, frankly, outrageously delicious, I am sure there will be many repeat customers!”

Aidan Watt, Hotfoot’s technical director, comments, “One of the fascinating things for us as a team was to see, in real time, a huge response from the Radford family’s army of followers. As soon as the website went live we were able to monitor people’s comments on social media as they interacted with the website for the first time and placed orders. We were able to make adjustments on the very first day based on this feedback.”

Noel Radford, owner of Radford’s pies, said, “The project has been a pleasure from beginning to end. The design options were much more than we expected and the input from the Hotfoot team was extremely valuable to ensure we had a successful launch. On the first day alone we had a huge volume of online orders. We’re really very proud and we’ve had so many positive comments from our customers about the website. Thank you Hotfoot!”
