First job?
My first gig was a runner at London Fashion Week on behalf of Associated Press. I queued to see Rihanna’s fashion show for over four hours, but was sent home when the camera crew arrived. I was also a Sales Assistant at River Island. That was some good discount.
Which famous person do you most admire?
Some people I most admire are thought leaders like Wallace D. Wattles and Bob Proctor. I'm a huge fan of personal development and I love their teachings. I’m also a proud Beyoncé fan. I really admire her work ethic and the motivational messages she shares through her music. She's also an unbelievable performer. I've seen her live seven times...
Favourite records?
Beyoncé’s back catalogue is my go-to. I’m also a fan of Arctic Monkeys, Jay Z, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar and Fred again. One of my favourite records is 'Watch The Throne' by Jay Z & Kanye. I was lucky enough to experience it live in concert... unbelievable!
Favourite books?
'Atomic Habits' by James Clear is a recent favourite of mine. 'Letters to a Young Poet' is also pretty special to me. I have social accounts dedicated to my love of books (@verity_writes) - join me!

Favourite places to visit?
Copenhagen, Paris, New York and the Lake District.
Tell us something we don’t know about you...
I’m a spoken word poet. I was mentored by one of my favourite poets, the late Benjamin Zephaniah, at university. Poetry helps me tell stories - not just my own. Poetry can really help people who are going through something and it brings people together. It's so rewarding to know that. I once performed one of my poems on BBC Radio. I share my poetry on my socials (@verity_writes) and perform at venues around the North West.
What did you want to be when growing up?
A writer, or Matilda. I think I’m an amalgamation of the two, without the magical powers...
