My first official job was working on reception at Morecambe Superbowl when I was 16 – the pleated trousers and baseball cap we’re a winning combination! Before that, I used to babysit and also had a job collecting glasses at a local caravan park bar.
Most treasure possession?
My camera. I love taking photos of the people I love and places I have visited. Looking through old photos is a favourite pastime of mine.
This is a tough one. Today I’ll say, Three Little Birds by Bob Marley or David Bowie’s Life on Mars. Tomorrow it will be something different.
Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I used to be an Irish dancer – complete with sparkly, brightly coloured dress, curly wig and white socks! I used to train four times week and compete at least once a month, in small feiseanna (competitions) across England and bigger competitions like the British Nationals, Great Britain’s and the qualifiers for the Worlds. I don’t know how I managed that alongside school, but it taught me a lot about hard work and determination and I made some amazing friends.
There are too many to choose from, but I do have a fondness for 80s movies like Overboard, Scrooged, Beetlejuice, and Labyrinth.
Favourite holiday destination?
I love travelling, so I like to go to new places as often as possible. My favourite destination has probably been Gili Air, an island just off Bali, where the only transport is horse and cart or bikes or Udaipur in India – it’s so beautiful there. I have wanted to go back to both ever since I left. I do tend to lean towards Spanish speaking places usually, as I dream of being able to speak the language.
What did you want to be when growing up?
A lawyer for a long time – I blame Ally McBeal. I also wanted to be a doctor or a nurse, but then I decided I wasn’t too keen on open wounds.
This is embarrassing…Rightmove – it’s my total guilty pleasure. I love looking through all the different houses, especially the ridiculously expensive ones. I could move house tomorrow and I would still take a look at Rightmove the following week.
