Em is a passionate creative who loves to deliver inspiring visual solutions and power beautiful content. She is a graphic designer and illustrator, specialising in brand identity, packaging and digital design.
Originally from Manchester, Em has worked in a diverse range of senior creative roles over the years since graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University.
Favourite holiday destination?
Depending on my mood, it’s between Crete, or an isolated cabin somewhere in the Lakes or the Highlands. Anywhere with fresh air, no hubbub where you can just sit and admire your surroundings.
Most treasured possession?
Probably my iPad. I used to be a sceptic when it came to using them to illustrate, but combining it with traditional techniques has really changed things for me and allowed me to sit and illustrate more often and just enjoy experimenting.
Favourite apps?
Spotify, Procreate and Flightradar24.
Favourite record?
I don’t tend to sit and listen through full albums, but I’d have to say The Fat of the Land by The Prodigy. They remain my favourite group and growing up hearing Firestarter was probably why I’m into so much dance music now.
Favourite designer?
Charley Harper is probably the most influential on my work in terms of how he used shape, and his ability of illustrating anything by breaking it down to an essence, whether it was complex scene or simpler close up.
Favourite TV Shows?
Hands down The X Files. It’s one of the few programmes I can go back to and watch again and again. Some of the CGI is so bad it’s good, but it’s just iconic. If I want to watch something lighter, The Office (and only the US version), is always fun to go back to. Never gets old.
Favourite games?
GTA V will always be a classic and is great to mess about in, and Watch Dogs II & Legion are beautiful games to play. Rocket League is also good fun with some brilliant music.
