The Project

The award-winning Sun Hotel & Bar began its renaissance in 2003, when it was purchased by C2 Investment, and underwent a transformation from a “tired back street boozer” to a beautiful and popular venue after an investment in excess of £1m.

The Sun Hotel & Bar has won a range of local and national awards over the past decade, and has a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Located in Lancaster Castle’s Conservation Area, the Sun has welcomed guests since the 17th Century. The 4-star hotel now offers 16 beautifully designed contemporary en-suite bedrooms with stylish furnishings and Italian influenced bathrooms. The famous Sun Bar underneath offers a range of craft ales and spirits, freshly ground Atkinsons coffee and delicious locally sourced food.

C2 Investment also owns Lancaster Brewery and a number of other pub restaurants and hotels in Lancashire and Cumbria, including the Mill in Ulverston, the Duke Of Edinburgh in Barrow, and the Palatine in Morecambe.


Hotfoot work closely with the management and team at C2 to actively promote the Sun Hotel & Bar as a destination venue.

Our objective is to maximise the potential of the venue by creating and promoting content across multiple platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TripAdvisor and the venue website. We also undertake public relations and provide design services.
