The challenge
Start Strong is a new campaigning organisation built around a clear ambition: to change how early childhood advocacy works, not simply add another voice to the conversation.
The challenge was to create a brand for an organisation still taking shape. One that could build a movement, influence public and political opinion, and make giving every child the best start in life a national priority.
We were appointed to turn that ambition into a bold, distinctive brand with authority.
Strategy
Position Start Strong as a movement, not another early childhood organisation.
The strategy centred on creating a brand that could bridge two worlds: the credibility and rigour needed to influence policymakers, and the warmth and humanity needed to engage people beyond the sector.
Bold, modern and unapologetically ambitious, the brand was designed to make early childhood feel not like a niche issue, but a national priority – building recognition, creating momentum and bringing people together around a shared mission.
The results
The project brought Start Strong to life with a bold, distinctive identity and flexible brand system designed to work across campaigning, policy, research and public engagement.
At the heart of the identity is a simple geometric language inspired by building blocks, representing both the foundations laid in early childhood and the inequalities that can shape a child’s life. This visual idea extends beyond the logo to create a recognisable system of shapes, layouts, imagery and communications that gives Start Strong a consistent and ownable presence.
