Website and marketing for a
unique tourist destination
Lancaster District Tourism
The challenge
The Lancaster District has a visitor proposition with huge potential – an historic city, iconic seaside resort, miles of surrounding countryside and coast, and plenty to see and do. With so much to offer and with the rise of staycations, international visitors, and unique experiences a high-functioning, intuitive and responsive website was needed.
The existing visitor website user experience felt tired and outdated whilst maintaining the site was cumbersome and time-consuming. A total overhaul meant a fresh and exciting new experience to engage visitors better.
The strategy
We worked with the tourism team by undertaking a thorough research and understanding process as part of their new tourism and place strategy.
New people-focused photography, a bold and fresh colour palette with immersive video and brand-led illustrations brought the website experience to life. With increased decision-making and new bookings being paramount, a slick user journey meant visitors could engage, search, and find with ease.
The results
- Strategy and planning
- Stakeholder survey
- Customer user journey mapping
- UX/UI design
- Figma Prototyping
- Statamic CMS
- API integration
- Hosting
- Canva brand templates
Good news!
“The new website is packed full of information on attractions, places to stay and things to do, to tempt both day visitors and those looking to stay for longer. I am confident that it will generate even greater interest in the area and see the value of our visitor economy increase even further.”
