EDT – Industrial Cadets
The challenge
EDT (Engineering Development Trust) is a UK-wide educational charity delivering more than 50,000 accredited experiences every year through the Industrial Cadets Awards.
Inspired by its Patron, King Charles III, the charity works to increase diversity and open up opportunities for young people. It does this through real industry-based experiences that build practical, work-ready skills for the future workforce.
As part of its strategic growth plans leading into 2026, the charity needed a full brand overhaul.




The strategy
Through a series of brand workshops, we aligned the brands to clarify their roles and create a cohesive framework. The result was a strategic alignment that strengthened the distinct role of each brand while building a clear and consistent connection between them, ensuring coherence across the refreshed framework.
The endorsed brand maintained Industrial Cadets’ new identity while remaining visibly connected to EDT, reinforcing credibility, trust, and shared values.
Brand Positioning
Industrial Cadets to operate as a youth-first, opportunity-driven brand designed to inspire, engage and convert young people.
Engineering Development Trust to retain a separate, purpose-led brand that clearly communicates its mission, impact and value targeting funders, educators and strategic partners.


The results
The project brought the Industrial Cadets and EDT brands to life with a refreshed identity, clear brand guidelines, and a cohesive suite of marketing materials and templates to support the programme and its pathways.
The logos were developed using geometric construction, a technique based on concentric circles. By precisely overlapping circles and shapes, we created a mark with strong balance, proportion, and symmetry.
